Case study
See it on you, before you buy.
Context
Online fashion depends on one question shoppers cannot answer from a photo on a model: will it suit me? So they hesitate, order several sizes, or don’t buy at all.
The idea
A fitting room built into the brand’s own site. Four short videos create a hologram with the shopper’s shape. Every piece they tap, a green pullover, red sneakers, appears on it, front and back.
Design choices
- A neutral human hologram first, so the experience is clear before anyone films anything.
- Four guided captures (front, back, left, right) with clear framing, the simplest input a phone can give.
- The hologram “becomes you”: a visible transformation, so the shopper understands what was measured.
- Tap to wear, turn to check: one tap puts a piece on, and the hologram turns in every direction with the mouse or a finger, front, side and back.
- A size suggestion for every piece, based on the measured shape.
- Privacy in plain words: what is captured, why, where it is processed, and a one-click delete.
What the demo shows
The full flow on three fictional sample bodies: simulated capture and analysis, the hologram taking their shape, front and back views, ten fictional pieces and an illustrative size suggestion.
What a real version needs
A 3D body-reconstruction or virtual try-on service, the brand’s real garments and size charts, explicit consent and GDPR-grade handling of body images, and testing on many body types for accuracy.
